French Quarter, New Orleans, Louisiana 2008 _ Tulane Architecture Japan Program In Japan, gardens are rooms weaving together picturesque compositions of nature and built structure. Transitions between interior and exterior in the traditional temples are designed with care so that one who passes takes note of each threshold as a part of the space they are leaving as well as the place to which they continue. This project works to weave water and gardens through meeting rooms and galleries crating an effect of pattern and rhythm. The result is a textured tapestry of layered spaces which dialogues with the dense and varied fabric of the French Quarter. |
